Reviews & qa

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Indiferent I bought the 'skin conditioning' powder. Two-part review: Test area and Full Shaving. Test Area: Followed instructions to test area in my beard. Difficult to mix at first, but eventually you learn some tricks to make it easier. I let the cream/paste sit on a good patch of my beard for 5mins, then cleaned afterward with a wet cloth. Facial hair stayed intact, but I didn't have any skin reaction. I tried a second time to test a different part of my beard. This time I changed the consistency of the cream/paste to a creamier one. Left on my new test area for 5 min, then cleaned with wet cloth. This time, a little amount of hair was removed. The skin did not have any reaction. ... 36 hours later ... Shaving: So I was ready to shave my beard. Since my facial hair is very thick and coarse and based on the test I did in both areas of my beard, I knew the mixture had to come out more creamy than watery. Also, since 5 minutes from the test didn't remove hair, I left it on for 7 minutes, splashing my face with some water between the 7 mins to keep the cream/paste from drying on my face. By the 7 min mark, my face was itching a little. I cleaned my face with a wet cloth and overall it removed most of my facial hair. Left a lot of stubble but was very decent shave. I don't think the shave could last 36 hours. I would definitely need to shave the next day. I did have a lot of redness in my face and in the area close to my lips, which actually were mild chemical burns. This sucked because, during the test area, I didn't have any reaction. Anyways I used Neosporin ointment to treat the chemical burns on my face and by the next day the redness had decreased a lot. I kept using the antibiotic ointment for a few more days until my face was healed. Overall: I'm not using the product again. I bought this specific product because of the Aloe skin conditioning, but it was still very harsh on my face. The smell was not too bad at all. A little funky, but it didn't bother me at all. Maybe the test instructions should be changed by the manufacturer? Also, the manufacturer needs to include in the directions that if someone suffers burns they can use an antibiotic ointment for minor burns. The instructions should also advise that the product is difficult to mix with water so people don't think the product is defective.
