SAVE THE UNMIXED HALF OF THE SOFTENER CREAM [2] AND THE REMAINING CREAM ACTIVATOR [3] PACKET FOR NEXT RETOUCH IN A SAFE PLACE, OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
  • HOW TO APPLY

Softener Cream [2] and Cream Activator [3] must be used as a mixture, in the correct proportions. Let mixture sit for 5 minutes prior to use. Do not brush, comb or rub scalp vigorously before using this product.

    STEP 1: APPLY PROTECTIVE GEL
Part hair into four sections: down the middle from front to back, then from ear to ear. With gloves on, apply Hair & Scalp Protective Gel [1] to ENTIRE scalp and hair from roots to end, around the nape and hairline. Avoid scratching scalp.
DO NOT RINSE HAIR AND SCALP PROTECTIVE GEL [1] OUT OF HAIR.

STEP 2: APPLY THE SOFTENER MIXTURE
Apply mixture to dry hair without touching the scalp. Use a timer. Follow the processing times. The application time should be counted in the total relaxing time. If the hair has already been softened, apply to new growth only. DO NOT LEAVE THE MIXTURE IN CONTACT WITH THE HAIR FOR MORE THAN THE TIME DETERMINED BY THE STRAND TEST. NEVER EXCEED THE MAXIMUM PROCESSING TIME INDICATED IN THE TIME CHART.

Full Head Application On Virgin Hair
Make narrow partings of 1/4 inch. Complete each section, working from crown, where hair is usually more resistant, towards hairline. With gloves on, starting in the neck area, spread generous amounts of the softener mixture evenly down the entire hair shaft, section by section starting close to the scalp. Apply softener mixture near hairline and edge area last. Avoid applying softener to scalp. Do not pull hair during application.

    Retouching New Growth
Make narrow parting of 1/4 inch. Complete each section working from crown, where hair is usually more resistant, towards hairline. With gloves on, starting in the neck area, apply generous amounts of the softener mixture to all new growth only, section by section, starting close to the scalp. Avoid overlapping softener onto previously softened hair. Application of product to previously softened hair can cause hair breakage. Avoid applying softener to scalp. Do not pull hair during application.
THROW AWAY ANY UNUSED SOFTENER MIXTURE.

    STEP 3: SMOOTH
Use the back of a wide-toothed comb to smooth and spread softener mixture through unsoftened hair or new growth. Do not comb or pull hair. Continue to smooth softener mixture through hair paying close attention not to exceed the maximum recommended processing time for your child’s hair type.

    STEP 4: RINSE
Rinse thoroughly with warm water until the product is completely rinsed-out. It’s much easier to shampoo properly if softener mixture is totally rinsed out of hair first. Make sure the rinsing water does not come into contact with eyes.

    STEP 5: SHAMPOO
With gloves on, apply the Neutralizing Shampoo [4] provided in the kit and rinse well. You must shampoo and rinse thoroughly at least twice to eliminate all traces of softener mixture. Pay close attention to scalp, skin, and hair. Pink lather indicates softener mixture residue is still in the hair which if not removed may result in damage from over-processing.

Note: If using only half-contents of Softener Cream [2], save half of Neutralizing Shampoo [4] in bottle for next retouch application.

    STEP 6: NEW! CONDITION
Towel blot hair and distribute Deep Conditioner [5] throughout hair. Leave on for 5 minutes, then rinse. Towel blot hair.

    STEP 7: STYLE
Use NEW! Beautiful Beginnings Conditioning Oil Moisturizer [6] daily or as needed for added moisture, shine and softness. Apply a small amount into palm, rub hands together and apply to hair from roots to ends. Style as desired.
